Board of Prefects

BOP 25

The Board of Prefects at St. Benedict’s College for the year 2025 is a committed group of 54 student leaders who play a key role in maintaining the school’s values of excellence, discipline, and unity. The board operates under the guidance of Mr. Titus Withanage, whose experience and leadership continue to shape a strong and focused team.

Leading the board is Head Prefect Master Vikum Devinda Hettiarachchi, whose dedication and leadership serve as an example to all students. Supporting him are Deputy Head Prefects Master Lesan Kudaligama and Master Clovis Fernando, both known for their responsibility, teamwork, and service to the school.

Together, the 54 prefects take on important duties—organizing school events, supporting discipline, and creating a welcoming and respectful environment. They serve not just as leaders, but also as role models who represent the values and spirit of St. Benedict’s College in everything they do.

Prefect's Logo

At the heart of student leadership at St. Benedict’s College stands a symbol that speaks volumes — the Prefects’ Logo, proudly featuring a bold eagle and the words “Noble and Brave.” It is more than just an emblem; it is a statement of identity, purpose, and unwavering commitment to service.

The eagle, known as the king of the skies, represents the strength, courage, and vision every prefect must embody. It reflects the ability to rise above challenges, to lead with confidence, and to see beyond the ordinary. The eagle is fearless in flight — just as prefects are fearless in responsibility.

With eyes set on the future and wings wide open, the eagle in our logo reminds every prefect of their duty to lead with clarity, protect with honor, and inspire with integrity.

Positioned alongside the eagle are the words “Noble and Brave”, two qualities that define the essence of prefectship at St. Benedict’s College.

  • Noble signifies integrity, respect, and a commitment to what is right, even in difficult moments.

  • Brave speaks of the courage to act, to stand firm in truth, and to face challenges head-on.

Together, these words form a powerful motto — a standard of leadership that every prefect strives to live by.

Projects Done

Walk with De La Salle – Art Competition (For De La Salle Day)

The Board of Prefects of St. Benedict’s College proudly launched the “Walk with De La Salle” Art Competition, inviting all students to take part in a creative journey inspired by the life and mission of St. John Baptist de La Salle – the founder of the Lasallian tradition.

This event is not just a competition; it is a reflection of the values that shape every Lasallian student – faith, service, leadership, and brotherhood. Participants are encouraged to interpret and portray “The Spirit of De La Salle in Today’s World” through their own artistic lens.

Whether it’s through vibrant colors, meaningful symbolism, or thoughtful expression, students are given the freedom to visually represent how De La Salle’s legacy continues to walk beside us in our daily lives.

Inter Class Quiz Competition (For the College Day)

In celebration of 160 glorious years of St. Benedict’s College, the Board of Prefects 25 proudly organized the Inter Class Quiz Competition—a tribute to the College’s rich legacy, inspiring history, and Benedictine values that have stood the test of time.

This special quiz was held as part of the 160th College Day celebrations, aiming to ignite school spirit and deepen students’ connection to the roots of St. Benedict’s College. Focused on our history, the life of our Patron Saint, St. Benedict, and significant milestones of the College, the quiz brought our proud story to life in the hearts and minds of the students.

Each class sent their best minds into this friendly academic battle. The competition featured rounds on college history, general knowledge, and Benedictine values, ensuring a well-rounded and intellectually stimulating experience for all.

Congratulations to the champions and heartfelt appreciation to all participants and organizers who made this quiz a meaningful and memorable part of our 160th anniversary.”
